The Society of Light and Lighting, part of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE), has published updated guidance on the fire safety of thermoplastic diffusers used in lighting fixtures.
The publication, Lighting Factfile LF12 (2026), explains the relevant building safety requirements affecting the selection and specification of thermoplastic materials in lighting products.
Covering regulatory requirements across England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland, the guidance supports designers and engineers in making informed decisions when selecting luminaires.
Engineering perspective: Lighting design must consider not only energy efficiency and visual comfort but also material properties, installation conditions and fire safety requirements.

İngiltere merkezli Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) bünyesindeki Society of Light and Lighting, aydınlatma armatürlerinde kullanılan termoplastik difüzörlerin yangın güvenliğine ilişkin rehberini güncelledi.
